Test-driven development

Whenever I ask a client "do you use a testing framework?" the most overwhelmingly frequent answer is "er... it's on the agenda."

I think most developers have something of a guilt complex that their project doesn't have a formalized testbed beyond a good kicking in dev and maybe some peer review. In fact even when tests are implemented, they're frequently neglected at some point of urgency and left by the wayside.

That's... not great, but not usually catastrophic. There are worse problems to have. But rest assured - I'm very familiar with PHPUnit, good testing practice and the fundamental principles of TDD. Where automated testing is requested, automated testing is done. And if you feel like paying a guy to backfill some absent tests... call me. Let's talk.
